Or Call
toll free 800-495-9105 or
local 757-495-8003.
Phone hours
are 9am - 4:30pm
est. Monday -
Friday - weddings
are typically
performed 7 days a
week by
pre-arrangement, and
an appointment is
required to view the
chapel. WE do
not schedule
appointments Friday
or Saturday evenings
or Sundays; and we
are closed on a few
major holidays - New
Years Day, Mother's
Day, Easter,
Memorial Day,
Father's Day, 4th of
July, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving and
Christmas Eve &
Christmas Day. On
New Years eves we
will perform
ceremonies up to
2pm.
Where can we have our
wedding ceremony?
There are so many
beautiful locations
from beaches to
parks to unique
venues. If you
want to have a beach
wedding, the City
has a $200
beach wedding permit
required for
weddings that
require a set up
with chairs, arches,
torches etc.
This permit reserves
you a 3 hour time
frame at a location
of your choice.
BUT, they do not
issue permits during
special event
holiday weeks, such
as Memorial Day,
Fourth of July &
Labor Day. Permits
must be obtained at
least 45 days in
advance!
Please call us to
discuss your options
and our service to
obtain the permit
for you. Our Virginia Beach Wedding Chapel is available as a weather
back-up, or have your ceremony inside! Our chapel is
located just 5 blocks from the Virginia Beach oceanfront and
seats up to 60
guests - 637 10th Street, Virginia Beach Virginia 23451.
When's
the best time of
year
to have an outdoor
wedding?
During
the summertime, we
do NOT recommend afternoon
weddings (12 noon to
4pm) - 3 pm is the
hottest part of the
day - dehydration and heat
stroke can occur.
Spring time,
Summertime (morning
and evenings),
September - November
are beautiful months.
You can check out
the weather at
www.Weather.com
- use zip code 23451
for the VA Beach
oceanfront - with
global warming, it's
becoming difficult
to predict weather
temperatures.
You do want to make
sure that there are
NO SPECIAL EVENTS
scheduled in front
of your hotel - so
we recommend you
check out
www.vbfun.com
for the best list of
events at the
oceanfront. **You
don't want to plan
for a beautiful
beach ceremony only
to find out that the
Monster Truck
exhibition is in
front of your hotel! When
is the best day of
the week for our
wedding?
Peak tourist season with high hotel rates
apply the week
before
Memorial Day through
Labor Day.
Sunday-Thursday weddings are
popular and will
save you money in
the long run, as
weekday rates are
typically less
expensive at the
hotels.
Are we able to meet
with you in person?
Absolutely! Victoria
will be happy to
schedule a personal
appointment
with you. All arches
and wedding set ups
are typically on display at
our wedding chapel
during the off
season.
What are
your hours for Ceremonies?
9:00AM to
6:30 pm
Can we have
a sunrise or sunset ceremony?
We
don't offer sunrise
ceremonies. Keep in mind for sunset ceremonies, from
the time you begin
your ceremony, you
will need at least
one hour for your
photos before the
sun actually sets -
if you plan on a
sunset ceremony -
you will be standing
in the dark moments
thereafter - so we
would recommend
taking ALL photos
before the ceremony,
with exception of
the actual ceremony
itself. Most couples
don't want to do
that, so allow 1.5
to 2 hours before
sunset for your
ceremony start time.
SUNRISE/SUNSET TIMES TABLE
Do you have any
Surcharge /Destination Travel Fees?
We have an additional $35 fee to
travel to south Pungo, Munden Point/Back Bay, Eastern Suffolk,
western Chesapeake, Portsmouth .. add $100 for travel to
W Suffolk, Newport News, Hampton,
Williamsburg -- Destination Weddings Out of Area
OBX - Outer Banks, Maryland, Eastern Shore - for
example, we're happy to travel, but we do charge a per diem
mileage and
hourly rate - please contact us for details!
How long
does the wedding
ceremony last?
The
typical
ceremony itself (not
including pictures) length runs
about 20
minutes long -
depending on if you
have any special
readings, music, or
performing a sand
ceremony.
What is a Wedding
Director?
Our wedding director
not only coordinates the
timing of your
ceremony - when the
groom walks to the
arch with the
commissioner, when
the attendants walk,
when the brides
walks, but so much
more including pinning of
corsages and
boutonnieres,
preparation of your
personalized
timeline, ceremony
site plan, available
to you for email and
phone consultation
for etiquette, etc.
Large bridal parties
and guest counts
(100+ guests)
requires a
director's team of
at least 2
consultants - we work with
headsets to
coordinate crowd
control - making
your day as perfect
as we can get it!
A lot goes on behind
the scenes - never
underestimate the
duties of your
Wedding Director!
What happens if it
rains?
Our Virginia Beach
Wedding Chapel is
available as a
weather back-up for
all our Package
reservations, and is
located just 5
blocks from the
Virginia Beach
oceanfront, with
seating for 60
guests. If you
are going ala carte,
you may reserve the
chapel for $425 as
your rain back up.
Do you have
a
reception site?
No,
we are a chapel
only, but are happy
to refer you to list
of vendor sites.
Can the tiki torches
be lit?
Sorry, the torches
cannot be lit for
beach front
ceremonies due to
City of Virginia
Beach code.
You can have lit
torches at First
Landing State Park -
however, our torches
are floral topped,
and are not set up
for lighting.
What is the Wish to
the Sea?
Our special "Wish to
the Sea" ceremony
follows the main
wedding ceremony where the
bride & groom lead
all guests back to
the arch, stopping
to take a small sand
dollar,
walking through the
wedding arch down to
the waters edge,
everyone makes a
silent wish for the
couple's future
together!
*upon arrival at the
beach front, all of
your guests are
given a small
information sheet
describing this
ceremony - it's a
wonderful way to
include everyone in
your wedding
ceremony!
Following the "wish
to the sea", picture
taking begins!
**in Hawaii, they
call it "blessing of
the stones**
What kind of wedding
music do you play?
We begin with a
variety of 30
minutes worth of
soft guest gathering
music, leading into
the processional /
bridal walk;
concluding the
ceremony with a
steel drum version
of the wedding march
recessional (the
kiss!), followed by
an additional 30
minutes worth of
romantically fun
music played during
the "Wish to the
Sea" and our wedding
photography down by
the water's edge.
How can I
pay my retainer?
Retainers can be paid by check, cash,
or credit card -
your retainer to
reserve our services
on our calendar is
non-refundable
should you cancel at
any time (with
exception of active
duty military
orders). In fairness
to all clients that
we have to turn down
who would love to
have your wedding
date & time, even if
you don't send back
the agreement within
one week, we have
already gone to work
for you, reserved
the marriage
officiant, opened a
file - your retainer
to reserve us on our
calendar is
non-refundable.
When is the
balance due?
The
balance is due on or
before 30 days
prior to the day of
the ceremony. We
offer an interest
free monthly payment
plan that easily
meets most budgets.

COUPLES must

APPLY
FOR YOUR LICENSE
FEE: $30.00

Commonwealth of Virginia
and is valid for 60
days.
GET YOUR
LICENSE AFTER IT HAS
BEEN RECORDED:
$2.50 payable in
cash or money order
with self-addressed
stamped envelope -
recommend you get at
least 5 or 6 copies.
If you are local,
you can go down the
courthouse within
about 10 days - if
you are from out of
town, you can either
leave the
self-addressed

Unlike other states,
witnesses are not
required in
Virginia. A Blood
test is not
required in the
State of Virginia.
Divorced?
You do not need a
copy of your divorce
decree,
Who will marry us?
Rev. Bruce
Begault, owner of
the wedding chapel,
will be honored to
officiate over your
wedding ceremony.
He offers a
beautiful civil or
non-denominational
religious
(Christian)
ceremony.
Should he not be
available, we may
need to book a city
marriage
commissioner.
You can also have
your personal
family Pastor,
Minister, Reverend
or Rabi officiate
your ceremony, but
be sure they
complete the
Virginia Beach court
paperwork - there's
a bit of red tape
involved. A
marriage
commissioner
typically performs a
Civil ceremony with
little if no
religious overtone. Marriage
commissioner civil
ceremonies typically
last about 7
minutes!
Personal Vows or Statements
It's always more personal
to
write your own
personal statement or a brief love
letter to each other
to read at the
ceremony following
the traditional vow
exchange -if you need
assistance, don't
hesitate to contact
us for suggestions, it's always part
of our service to
you after you book
with us!
Where
can we stay for our
wedding? Depending on the time of year, some oceanfront
hotels may give you
a small discount off
a block of rooms for
you and your guests.
If you are not
staying at a hotel
at the oceanfront,
and prefer a
somewhat less
crowded area, we can
suggest renting a
beach home at the
southern end of
Virginia Beach at Sandbridge beach
area, and you can
make reservations
through
Siebert Realty
or
Sandbridge Realty.
a condo on the bay
near Chick's Beach
off Shore Drive
(best sunsets)
Chicks Beach
Rentals,
or enjoy an
oceanfront condo
Atkinson Realty
- accommodations are
available for all
budgets!
When
won't you set up for
wedding ceremonies -
what are your days
off? We do like to take a day off every once in a while
and avoid the big
tourist crowds that
keep us from getting
near the beach to
unload our wedding
arches, and to spend
time with our
family. We
are not available
for the following:
New Year's Day,
Valentine's Day
Evening after 2pm,
Easter Sunday,
Mother's Day,
Memorial Day,
Father's Day, 4th of
July, Labor Day,
