Coming from out of town, and not sure where to have
your beach wedding?
It's ideal to stay at an Oceanfront hotel the night before or
night of your wedding, and walk outside to get
married, then walk back inside for your reception, dinner, or enjoy whatever plans you may have.
BUT what type of wedding are you dreaming of? Standing
near the surf with no set up, take your vows and enjoy your day?
You can do this almost anywhere year round with probably no
restriction. However, from May thru September, 1st through
31st streets is the busiest tourist area, and dozens of large
volleyball nets line the beachfront. The City also requires a
$200 permit for beach weddings requiring wedding site deliveries
by commercial companies, i.e., arches and chairs and the like,
and permits are not issued during summer holiday weeks, such as:
Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. So what do we
recommend? During the summertime, if you want more
privacy, head north of 31st Street, towards the bay, First
Landing State Park or south to Sandbridge!
So now you're thinking, ok, what hotel
should I stay at? This really depends on your budget and of
course preference on hotel and location. Here are a few
hotel locations with good beach access
- depending on time of year, many resort festivals and
activities are scheduled throughout the summer season beginning
Mother's Day through Labor Day - so be sure to ask the hotel if
there are any special events scheduled on your wedding day, and
check the events calendar at www.vbfun.com.

romantic engagement pics late in the day on Sundays

Street is part of the private, residential area.
Parking very limited about 12
spaces - no parking on the side of the
street to avoid towing. Very romantic for just
the two of you or small gatherings - otherwise use a
limo or transport service for guests.
This is Victoria's favorite spot for romantic couple pics ... there's a beautiful tree covered arch walkway,
dunes, sea grass and the widest stretch of beach!
Alexander's On the
to have the beach wedding right outside and walk
inside for your reception. Alexander's on the Bay is
located right on the Chesapeake Bay.
4536 Ocean View Ave
Virginia Beach, VA 23455
a very narrow beach - we do not suggest big set-ups
at this location, particularly during high tide.
Rommel & Darlene
Buff's Garden at 47th
Street & Atlantic Ave
A beautiful memorial garden at the beach. Only 2 parking places are
at the entrance - street parking is limited in this
residential neighborhood, so you will need to plan
to walk - or get dropped off. Not recommended if you
have guests or any kind of set-up.
